Mike Peacock is a Dallas, Texas based Network Freelance Photojournalist, Visual Storyteller, Trainer and President of MEDIAdvise. Mike began his television career in 1979 as a part-time weekend sports anchor in Tyler, Texas. His broadcast television career has included stints as a reporter, one-man band, technical director, news photographer, chief news photographer and news operations manager. Mike led his photography staff to Texas A/P awards for “Best Photojournalism” in 1988 and 1989 and has won many other prestigious awards. Mike joined Primedia in 1989 and served as Director of Production / Programming Training in the Dallas production facility until 2000. He founded MEDIAdvise that year and began providing “on-site” visual language training to client stations and facilities nationwide. An ardent disciple and long time member of the National Press Photographers Association, Mike has attended over a dozen Workshops in Norman, Oklahoma and judged the NPPA National Clips Competition at Poynter Institute in 2003. Mike has covered some of the most memorable and viewed news stories around the country. He’s been involved in televising corporate events, and excels at commercial production. He’s comfortable with all facets of television production from live television production to breaking news stories. His passion for the television industry knows no bounds. “I believe the future is bright for everyone in television,” says Mr. Peacock. “Technological advancements will broaden the visual mediums ability to deliver an array of products across multiple platforms. The industry will need bright, energetic story-tellers to steer more consumable information to viewers”. Mike still frequently shoots local TV news in Dallas, guest lectures at Southern Methodist University on the subject of television photojournalism. He is also a Commercial Helicopter Pilot and a Certified Helicopter Flight Instructor. |
